The electro-acoustic manufacturer Vermona (now a brand of HDB electronic GmbH) has been developing and manufacturing electronic sound generators and effects devices for over 50 years.
The name for some devices, such as the Mono Lancet, was taken from the first German science fiction series Raumpatrouille Orion (first broadcast in 1966). Therefore, the theme of space travel and the charm of the awkwardness of older sci-fi series was taken up in the design concept.
